RCCG pastor has been confirmed dead.
Unknown gunmen attacked a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ogun State on Saturday, resulting in the tragic death of the pastor and the abduction of seven worshippers.

The Commander of the Ogun State So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the incident. He reported that his officers successfully rescued the seven church members and during the rescue operation, one of the kidnappers was killed.
In a statement provided to Ejes Gist News by the So-Safe Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, Ganzallo stated that the incident occurred around 12 am on Saturday, July 1.

Ganzallo explained that the Owode-Egba Zonal Command, led by ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi, received a distress call regarding an attack on the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, located in Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. He noted that the attack took place during a vigil, resulting in the kidnapping of seven church members and the tragic death of the pastor.

The So-Safe Corps immediately deployed officers to rescue the victims unharmed. Ganzallo highlighted the swift action taken by his team.
He further revealed that as a result of the Corps’ efforts, all seven victims were successfully rescued without any harm. Additionally, one of the kidnappers was killed, and several suspects sustained serious injuries during a confrontation.

Ganzallo mentioned that a joint team comprising the police and the So-Safe Corps is actively pursuing the remaining fleeing suspects with the aim of capturing them alive.
He also stated that the deceased kidnapper’s body has been transported to a nearby morgue.
