Atiku reacts after Wike sealed his office in Rivers
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has declared that he will become Nigeria’s next leader in 2023, despite any intimidation from Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
The Rivers State government closed down Atiku’s campaign office in accordance with Executive Orders 21 and 22.

According to reports, the office was shut down because it organised loud political events in neighbourhoods without the state government’s consent.
But in response, Atiku stated that the action will not deter him through his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu.
“Let me say this: the sun will rise, cock crows or not. Shaibu stated, “Atiku Abubakar will be President by the Special Grace of God.
Five PDP governors have led calls for Iyorchia Ayu to step down as the party’s chairman in recent months: Wike, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu.

The PDP stakeholders are requesting Ayu’s resignation because the party’s presidential candidate and national chairman cannot be from the same region.
Ayu has remained steadfast in his refusal to step down, though.
Wike and his allies left the PDP presidential campaign council in the midst of the crisis.
