DPO Killed by Unknown Gunmen In Fresh Anambra Attack
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and two others were killed when gunmen attacked the Isiowulu Police station in Awada, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, in the early hours of Monday.
Ejes Gist News Nigeria learned that a large group of criminals stormed the police station at 2:18 a.m. and engaged the police officers in a gun battle.

During the attack, the police reportedly repelled and killed three criminals with the aid of military personnel.
Ejes Gist News Nigeria learned that the DPO, a newly hired officer, and an inspector were the victims.
The attack occured less than twenty-four hours after gunmen attacked the 3-3 police divisional office in Oyi local government council, killing approximately six criminals.
According to a local source, the criminals began firing as they approached the police station, and the gunfire continued for several hours.
The source stated, “In the early hours, the criminals made another attempt to torch the Isiowulu Police station in Awada, Anambra State, near Obosi.”

The criminals were repelled by valiant security personnel, and three members of the gang were eliminated after a hail of gunfire.
Along with the vehicles used in the operation, two AK-47 rifles were recovered from them.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesman for the Anambra State command, could not be reached for comment at the time this report was filed.
