Nigeria would break up if it had to witness another misrule of APC, says Bishop Oyedepo

David Oyedepo, the founder and senior pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC regime as “nonsense” and “afflictions.”

The Winners’ spiritual head said Nigeria would break up if it had to witness another misrule of the APC regime and urged eligible voters to choose wisely as they go to polls on Saturday.

Mr Oyedepo did not state specifically if his congregants should shun the APC presidential standard-bearer Bola Tinubu.

Let us look out for the well-being of this nation. Let us stop hovering around the same nonsense every time; may we never see the afflictions we have seen in the last eight years again. Otherwise, there may not be a country again,” the church leader stated Sunday during a sermon.

Mr Oyedepo added, “Can this suffering continue like this? To the last minute? To get cash to support some things, my account manager couldn’t get it. In Nigeria, in your country?”

He stressed that it would “take an emergency intervention to revive this nation in gross distress. This week is decisive, so vote wisely. Vote for a leader with capacity and character.”

Last Thursday, Mr Oyedepo stressed that there “is also no political party or tribe in the country without incompetent and character-deficient individuals. No tribe is indecent. We only have indecent people in every tribe, religion, and political party.”

Mr Buhari assumed office as president almost eight years ago and is expected to hand over power on May 29 this year to any of the frontline presidential contestants, including his party man, Mr Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and Peter Obi (Labour Party).

It is our collective duty to secure the future of our children and the posterity of our great nation. Democracy provides us an open access for any candidate notwithstanding their political party, tribe or religion,” Mr Oyedepo said Thursday.

But the header specifically said he spoke against APC. You really should do better with your headers, rather than tarnish the reputation and images of these public figures cos of people who just read the headlines and move on, holding on to the fact that Oyedepo was specific. He said we should not vote for APC, blah blah blah.
