Gunmen shoot youth leader,

Rhino Owhorkire, the Director for Youths Mobilization of the Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa presidential campaign team in Rivers State, was shot by individuals who are believed to be political thugs.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening in Aluu, which is located in the Ikwerre Local Area (LGA) of the state, as Owhorkire was making his way home.

According to a source who provided a description of the incident that took place on Thursday morning, the assailants fired shots at the tyres of Owhorkire’s vehicle before shooting at him through the windscreen.

The youth mobilizer for the Rivers Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) is experiencing pain and is currently being treated at a hospital that has not been disclosed.

“As we speak, he is experiencing a great deal of discomfort. His mouth is all over the place. On the other hand, he is currently being treated in the hospital,” the source revealed.

This newspaper came across a video on the internet that showed Owhorkire with blood pouring out of his mouth after he had been injured.

“I am dying. They have just shot me. In the six-second clip, he can be heard saying, “I am dying, they have shot me.”

Grace Iringe-Koko, who serves as the spokesperson for the State Police Command, has confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been launched.
