Lagos Governor Sanwo Olu Urges Support for Armed Forces,Fallen Heroes

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, has called upon the residents of Lagos to unite in prayer, support, and remembrance for the families of the Armed Forces and who sacrificed their lives for the peace and security of the nation.

Speaking at the Divine Service, themed ‘Honouring Sacrifice,’ held at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Governor Sanwo Olu, represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo, emphasized the significance of remembering those who paid the supreme price in preserving Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The event, organized by the state government, witnessed the presence of members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries, APC chieftains, Commanding Officers, members of the Armed Forces, Nigerian Legion, religious leaders, families of fallen heroes, and Christian faithful.

Governor Sanwo Olu expressed gratitude, stating, “We are gathered here in the presence of God and in thanksgiving to Him as we remember our fallen heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice while preserving the unity and territorial integrity of our nation.”

He further urged the people of Lagos to continue supporting the Armed Forces and their families, emphasizing the importance of keeping them in prayers for continued victory.

During the service, , the General Overseer of and Miracles Ministries (MFM), delivered a sermon encouraging Nigerians to embrace sacrifice for a nation they can be proud of. Brig.-Gen. Adegoke Adetuyi, Commander 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, took the Bible reading, making the event a poignant mix of prayers, praises, and thanksgiving.
