The Lagos State Health Service Commission (LSHSC) has begun mass recruitment of clinical workers to fill vacancies and address a manpower shortage in the state’s public secondary health facilities.

This, it said, is in keeping with Governor Babajide Sanwo-promise Olu’s to provide high-quality healthcare to all residents of the state.

In a signed statement, LSHSC Permanent Secretary Dr. Ademuyiwa Eniayewun said the administration had approved the recruitment of large numbers of health workers while also directing that exit replacement be ensured as and when necessary to cushion the effects of brain drain, which he noted occurs in the health sector from time to time.

According to Eniayewun, the recruitment is aimed at reducing the negative impact of brain drain in the sector while also ensuring that residents receive the best possible health care when they visit government hospitals for medical treatment.
