Father Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault on 7-Year-Old Daughter in Edo State
In a deeply distressing incident, a man identified as Mr. Felix Iloghevbo has been apprehended by the police in Edo State for the alleged defilement of his own 7-year-old daughter.
The heinous act took place on September 19, 2023, in the Idokpa community, Uhunwonde Local Government area of the state.
According to the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, the suspect was taken into custody following prompt action by operatives from the Egba Division Police station, acting on credible information.

In his statement to the police, Mr. Iloghevbo reportedly confessed to the crime. Meanwhile, his young daughter was promptly taken to Vivian Medical Center for a thorough medical examination.
In a separate incident, the police also arrested one Godwin Osaghale on charges of raping a 20-year-old woman in the state.
The arrest occurred in Uromi, Edo State, following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Ehiavwin Great. Mr. Great alleged that Osaghale forcibly assaulted his daughter in their home while he was away.

The victim has likewise undergone a medical examination, and the suspect is now in police custody.

The investigations into both cases are currently underway, and it is expected that formal charges will be brought against the accused in due course.
