Chef Hilda Baci, the newest Guinness World Record holder, inspired many chefs and Nigerians when she decided to embark on a 100-hour cook-a-thon to break the 2019 record set by India-based chef Lata Tondon.

Chef Dammy

Cook-a-Thon: Ekiti Chef Hits 85 Hours

Chef Damilola Adeparusi, also known as Chef Dammy, began her 120-hour cook-a-thon at 12 a.m. on 9 June in a community flat in the Oye Local Government Area.

The incredible 120-hour cook-a-thon hosted by Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) students is expected to conclude on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Many questioned Adeparusi’s decision to proceed without waiting for official confirmation from the Guinness World Records (GWR) team regarding Hilda Baci’s record, despite the fact that she received widespread praise.

Ibadan Chef , Temitope Adebayo, Announces Plans To Undertake 140-hours Cook-a-thon

Prince Temitope Adebayo, a Nigerian chef, is preparing to break a World Record with a 140-hour cook-a-thon.

Chef Temitope, also known as Tope Maggie, from Ogbomoso, Oyo State, is preparing to cook for 140 hours and 20 minutes, according to a tweet by @Oyoaffairs.

A screenshot of the response Tope Maggie received after submitting his application to Guinness World Records was also provided.

After Chef Dammy of Ekiti State began her 120-hour cooking marathon in an attempt to break Hilda Baci’s record, he decided to attempt to break the Guinness World Record.

During Chef Maggie’s cooking marathon in Oyo State, a variety of cuisines will be offered.

Woli Arole

Recently, comedian Woli Arole declared his intention to join the trend among Nigerians to break records and earn Guinness World Record recognition.

Arole divulged his intention to initiate 5000-hour marathon prayers in an attempt to break the record for the longest period of continuous prayer.

According to the actor and talk show host, his ‘pray-a-thon’ is feasible. Consequently, he urged Nigerians to be prepared.

“Prayathon lasting 5000 hours. It is possible, plan accordingly”, he wrote.

Adebiyi Israel

Adebiyi Isreal, a native of Ekiti State, has announced his intention to break the record for the most hours spent watching films.

The Ekiti State University 500-level Law student shared a screenshot of the Guinness World Record acceptance email, urging Nigerians to prepare for the LONGEST MARATHON Watching Movies in Cinemas.

The current record holder is Canadian Suresh Joachim, who in 2015 viewed films nonstop for an incredible 121 hours and 18 minutes.

 

Oyinlola

Oyinlola, a painter and two-dimensional artist, hopes to break the Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon.

The current record holder is Ronald Palmaerts, who painted continuously for 60 hours in 2013.

Oyinlola tweeted a screenshot of an email from Guinness World Records announcing that she would attempt to break the record from October 28-30, 2023.

She wrote, “I’m thrilled to announce that Guinness World Records has approved my longest painting marathon! On October 28-30, 2023, I will embark on an extraordinary journey of inventiveness and tenacity.

 

Sultan “Hack Sultan” Akintunde

The co-founder of AltSchool Africa, Sultan Akintunde, plans to break the record for the longest continuous period of software coding.

Despite having submitted his application in 2020, he would complete this on December 20, 2023.

He shared this on his Twitter page, expressing happiness that his dream would finally become a reality and thanking the governing body for record-breaking achievements and statistics.

“After three years, I’ve finally made my Guinness World Record attempt: December 2023. Longest software development session without a break. He tweeted, “Thank you @GWR.”

On a lighter note, Ezinne Okoye, a graduate of Ebonyi State University, intends to fry her way to a Guinness World Record.

When she announced her intention to begin a 130-hour “fry-a-thon,” the online community reacted with hilarity.

She suggested frying for 130 hours to possibly steal the record from Chef Dammy, who is on a 120-hour cook-a-thon, aiming to demolish chef Hilda Baci’s 100-hour record attempt, which Guinness World Record officially recognised on Tuesday, June 13.

Okoye posted photos and videos of herself in the kitchen frying egg rolls with the caption, “I don’t start my fry a tonne oo…Meeting of church workers titled..I chose my kitchen, Boom….I am considering frying for 130 hours. Una go support me???”
