1) The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has tasked security agencies with apprehending and prosecuting those who assaulted one of its national commissioners in Adamawa State during Saturday’s supplementary governorship election. Sunday in Birnin Kebbi, INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoye disclosed this information to reporters.

2) Senator Dino Melaye has been selected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the governorship election in Kogi State on November 11. The party’s primary election took place at Kafa’s Hall, an event venue in Lokaja, under strict security. Read More

 

3) The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Dr. Nasiru Idris, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the election for governor of Kebbi State. Professor Sa’idu Yusuf, the state’s returning officer, reported that the APC candidate won the election with 409,225 votes to his opponent Aminu Bande’s 360,940 votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

4) The Department of State Services (DSS) has launched an investigation into an attack on a member of its staff in Adamawa State, according to a statement. On Sunday evening, the secret police issued the aforementioned statement. A DSS official was also recorded while being assaulted by individuals suspected of working for politicians.

5) Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has requested that the Independent National Electoral Commission resume the tabulation of the Adamawa governorship election immediately. After the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Aisha Binani the winner of the election, INEC suspended the process.

 

6) Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared in a controversial manner the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa State by Resident Electoral Commissioner Hudu Yunusa Ari. 7) In response to widespread violence, the Independent National Electoral Commission has cancelled the supplementary election for the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State. 8) Airports across Nigeria will be closed today, barring any unforeseen circumstances, as aviation unions begin a two-day warning strike over the non-release of their revised Condition of Service negotiated with four aviation agencies over seven years, as well as the planned demolition of some agencies’ offices in Lagos.

 

9) The Kaduna State Government has confirmed that gunmen have launched yet another attack in the Runji village of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. 10) Unknown assailants abducted Popoola Olasupo, a member of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, while he was on his way to his duty post with another member of the corps. Olasupo was reportedly kidnapped around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State near the Eledumare-Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
