Police Officer Dies While on Escort Duty on Abuja-Kaduna Train

Tragedy struck on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train as one of the policemen on escort duty was confirmed dead, leaving passengers and authorities shocked and saddened.

The deceased policeman, whose identity remains undisclosed at the time of this report, passed away on Thursday morning after complaining of chest pain, according to a witness account from a passenger onboard.

The eyewitness recounted that there were no apparent signs of illness when the train departed from Kaduna. However, during the journey, the officer began experiencing chest pain and urgently sought assistance.

A police officer, who was one of the escorts on an Abuja-Kaduna train just died,” the passenger stated. “He left home in good health. But later during the journey, he complained of chest pain and asked his colleague to get him some glucose and water.”

Despite efforts to aid the stricken officer, including seeking help from a doctor who happened to be a fellow passenger, the officer tragically succumbed to his condition before medical assistance could arrive.

Regrettably, there was no emergency medical care available onboard the train. The deceased officer’s remains were respectfully moved to a section of the train, with his face covered, as passengers and crew mourned the loss.

As of now, the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has not issued a statement regarding the incident, leaving questions unanswered about the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

The sudden demise of the policeman underscores the unpredictable nature of health emergencies, prompting concerns about the availability of medical resources and emergency protocols on train services.
