Former Jigawa state governor and ex-foreign affairs minister, , expressed scathing criticism of President , in a recent interview with Daily Trust newspaper,  the former governor asserting that Tinubu is leading Nigerians towards a bleak fate of poverty, hunger, and insecurity.

Sule Lamido, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), questioned Tinubu’s performance by referencing his commitment to continuing from where President Buhari left off.

He challenged Tinubu’s lack of tangible actions in addressing pressing issues such as insecurity, poverty, and hunger, which have plagued the nation.

Drawing parallels to the 2015 election, Lamido recalled his warning that a victory for the current administration would lead to losses for Nigeria.

He accused Buhari of lacking political sagacity, vision, commitment, and pedigree to effectively address the nation’s challenges during his eight-year tenure.

Lamido further scrutinized Tinubu’s pledge to uphold Buhari’s policies on the economy, security, corruption, and human rights, emphasizing that this continuity would only exacerbate the existing issues.

He painted a grim picture of the current trajectory, describing it as a journey marked by a “trailer load of poverty, hunger, insecurity, hate, despondency, frustration, pain, agony,” with the ultimate destination being the grave.
