Tinuade Sanda Ousted as Eko DisCo’s Managing Director
In a significant shake-up within the leadership of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Tinuade Sanda has been ousted from her role as the managing director.
The development was officially communicated through a statement released on Tuesday by Dere Otubu, the company’s chairman, shedding light on the swift administrative changes taking place at the helm of the DisCo.
The correspondence, issued on March 21, 2024, bears the title “Implementation of NERC Directive on Seconded Staff” and directly addresses Sanda.

It details instructions from the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), compelling EKEDC to transition to a staffing model where all personnel are directly employed by the utility, ensuring compliance with the utility’s service conditions.
Moreover, the missive underscores the necessity for all staff compensation to be processed through the utility’s payroll system, echoing the stringent adherence to NERC’s mandates as enshrined in the Electricity Act of 2023.
Within the letter’s directives, a significant decision was disclosed: “Following the directive aforementioned, EKEDC is releasing all seconded staff from WPG Ltd, thereby necessitating their return to WPG Ltd. Consequently, you are relieved from your duties, office, and position at EKEDC, effective immediately, with instructions to revert to your original employer, WPG Ltd.”
It is understood that subsequent to this directive, Sanda was instructed to delegate her responsibilities to the most senior EKEDC staff member under her purview.
