Drawing attention to the imminent burial of the slain army personnel, Clark called for solemn reflection and restraint in the aftermath of the tragic loss of lives. The scheduled burial ceremony at the National Cemetery in Abuja, to be attended by President Bola Tinubu, serves as a somber reminder of the human toll exacted by the escalating violence in Delta State.

Meanwhile, Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei, the representative of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State in the House of Representatives, echoed Clark’s sentiments, urging caution and professionalism in the handling of the situation. Ambaiowei emphasized the imperative of meticulous intelligence gathering and prudent execution to avert unintended casualties and prevent a recurrence of past atrocities, alluding to the tragic events in Odi in 1999.

As tensions simmer in the wake of the Delta killings, calls for restraint and accountability resonate across the political spectrum, underscoring the imperative of upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the fundamental rights of citizens.
