Religious leaders play an important role in Nigerian elections. Politicians revere them not only for their “spiritual powers,” but also for the enormous power they wield over millions of followers.
In addition, while think-tank organisations, both local and international, issue election forecasts based on various parameters, religious clerics, typically pastors, issue “prophecies” on who will win.

The general election in 2023 will be no different. Many pastors across the country have predicted who will win before the election.
This report highlights some of the most significant “prophecies.”
Who is the winner of the 2023 presidential election?
1. Tinubu will win the presidency in 2023, Pastor Sunday Adelaja predicts.
A Nigerian pastor named Sunday Adelaja who lives in Ukraine recently said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be elected president in 2023.
The founder of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations in Kyiv, Ukraine, said the former Lagos Governor would win for ten reasons in a lengthy piece titled “Nigeria, Behold Your Next President” and posted on his verified Facebook page.
2. Pastor Alamu David makes a prediction about the 2023 presidential election.
Similarly, in June 2022, Pastor Alamu David of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Abule Egba, Lagos, predicted Tinubu would win the 2023 presidential election.
Pastor David said that a vision he had in 2008 showed him that Tinubu would become president of Nigeria.
3. Tinubu’s victory was predicted by Rev. Dr. David Oyediran.
In March, Rev. Dr. David Oyediran declared that Tinubu “will rule Nigeria constitutionally.”
As president, Tinubu, according to Reverend Oyediran, general superintendent of Glorious Vision World Outreach Ministries in Lagos, is one of the few people who can restore hope and transform the nation.
4. Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi He said that God told him that Atiku would win in 2023.
Unlike Reverend Oyediran and others previously named, Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi of King of Kings Deliverance Ministry in Gbonum Ulepa Ntezi, Ebonyi State, believes the 2023 presidency belongs to Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was revealed by the prophet in a statement made available to newsmen in June.
5. Pastor Adewale Giwa predicts the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
In the same way, Pastor Adewale Giwa said that the PDP’s presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku, would win the general election in 2023.
Pastor Giwa, the senior pastor of the Awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry in Akure, Ondo State, believes Tinubu is the only candidate who can derail Atiku’s bid for the presidency.
6. Primate Ayodele reveals what God told him about the 2023 presidency.
In his prediction for the 2023 presidential election, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, the man of God in charge of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, said that the contest would be a straight battle between Labour Party candidate Peter Obi and Atiku.
He did, however, predict that Atiku would win. Because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, the cleric barred Tinubu, the APC candidate, from running.

7. Reverend Shalom Kelvin Akinbo and Peter Obi will win.
Reverend Shalom Kelvin Akinbo, the Head Pastor of Doers Nation International Church in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, said that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, would be shown to him in 2023 as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
On the other hand, the cleric said that strong prayers were needed to keep the land from falling into chaos.
Who will be elected president in 2023? Pastor Adeboye claims that God has yet to speak to him.
Meanwhile, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) previously revealed who he believes will win the 2023 presidential election.
The RCCG’s general overseer revealed that God has yet to speak to him about who will win the presidential election in 2023.
He said this on Friday, November 4, while ministering to the congregation at the latest edition of the “Holy Ghost Service” programme at the Redemption Camp.
