Ooni Of Ife Leads Yoruba Obas To Endorse Tinubu as Preferred Presidential Candidate
The Conference of Yoruba Obas unanimously endorsed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for Saturday’s presidential election, noting that the former governor of Lagos State is eminently qualified to lead Nigeria.
The traditional rulers of the Yoruba people from the states of Ekiti, Lagos, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo disclosed this in a communique issued following their recent meeting at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan in Oyo State.

According to reports, the traditional rulers were pleased with Tinubu’s presentation at the meeting.
They acknowledged Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to the consolidation of democracy in Nigeria, as stated in the communiqué.
The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon and Vice Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, added, “The meeting was unique and symbolic of the unity of the Yoruba-speaking state because it included Kogi and Kwara beyond the southwest.

The meeting, which was attended by first-class kings and chiefs from all six states in the South West as well as Yoruba-speaking parts of Kogi and Kwara, affirmed their faith and support for Nigeria’s unity, peace, prosperity, and progress, and pledged to support the democratic process based on free choices according to universal adult suffrage exercised freely by the people.
