Fire guts Olowu spare parts market in Lagos
On Thursday morning, a fire broke out at the Olowu spare parts market in Lagos State.
Some of the stores consumed by the fire sold air conditioners, vehicle parts, and motorcycles, among other items.
The value of the goods destroyed by the fire is estimated to be in the millions of naira.
The Lagos State Fire Service and security personnel have arrived at the scene. The situation is manageable.
A similar incident occurred three weeks after the fire at the Akere Spare Parts Market on Kirikiri Road in Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle.
Still in Lagos, Chrisland School Ltd and four employees have been charged with manslaughter in the death of a 12-year-old student, Whitney Adeniran.
On Thursday, the Lagos State Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) indicted the staff.

They were arraigned before Ikeja High Court Justice Oyindamola Ogala.
Ademoye Adewale, Kuku Fatai, Belinda Amao, and Nwatu Ugochi Victoria were charged with two counts of manslaughter and negligent acts.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them.
Meanwhile, reports making rounds have it that the son of popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie is dead.
According to the reports, he lost conscious and was rushed to the hospital.
Prior to his alleged demise, he was preparing for hai exam and studied through the night.
