Former First Lady Aisha Buhari, along with her children and a list of approximately 40 others, are reportedly in arrears for ground rents on several properties they own in Abuja. The outstanding debt owed to the Federal Capital Territory is estimated at over N30 billion.
The list of defaulters includes Mrs. Aisha Buhari and her children, namely Halima-Sheriff Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari, and Zahra Muhammadu Buhari, among others.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has issued a stern warning, indicating that the lands and properties of these defaulters may be subject to revocation if they fail to settle their outstanding ground rent obligations.
It’s worth noting that Aisha Buhari and her children are among the major beneficiaries of properties that were previously seized by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). The situation has raised concerns and sparked discussions about the obligation of individuals, including public figures, to fulfill their financial responsibilities and the potential consequences of defaulting on these payments.
