Wike Affirms Completion of Promised Projects.

 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has provided an update on the accomplished projects under his administration in the nation’s capital, reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling promises made to the Territory’s residents.

During a routine inspection of ongoing road projects in Abuja city center over the weekend, Wike highlighted several completed projects, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to delivering on its pledges.

Among the inspected projects were the Construction of the Southern Parkway from the Christian Centre to Ring Road 1, the Full Scope Development of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1, and the Construction of the Vice President’s official residence.

Additionally, the Completion of B6 and B12 Circle Road, commonly known as Independence and Constitution Avenue, and the Full Scope Development of the Arterial Road, N20 from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway) were part of the minister’s inspection.

Wike reiterated that the FCT Administration pledged to complete these ongoing road projects by May of this year, as part of showcasing the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s first year in office. He expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that the projects were nearing completion within the set timeframe.

 

The Minister commended the contractors for their diligence, stating that the projects were approximately 98 percent completed. He expressed gratitude for the contractors’ adherence to their commitment to deliver the projects by the specified deadline.

 

“This is a promise made and a promise kept,” Wike remarked. “You are aware that we did promise the residents of Abuja that during the one-year celebration, we will have a lot of projects that Mr. President will inaugurate.”

He further praised the contractors for their dedication, affirming their assurance that all projects would be commissioned by May.
