Senate Presidency: Most Incompetent Southern Christian Better Than Strict Northern Muslim – Kashim Shettima
Vice President Kashim Shettima has stated that a Northern Muslim should not be elected Senate President.
During an interactive session with senators in Abuja, Shettima stated that he is willing to beg the incoming senators to elect Godswill Akpabio (APC-Akwa-Ibom) and Sen. Barau Jibrin (APC-Kano) as the leaders of the 10th Senate.
Vice President Biden stated, “I’m willing to beg my colleagues for the good of the nation. This is essential for the nation’s survival.

“In a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society such as ours, we have a Muslim president and a Muslim vice president.
Shettima tells newly-elected members of the 10th NASS to prioritise Nigeria’s stability over their own bank accounts.
“Number 1, 2, have identical faith for God’s sake! Under the current system, the worst, most incompetent Southern Christian is preferable to the most pious Northern Muslim for the Senate presidency.
“Justice, equity, and fairness require that the third citizen of this country be a Christian.
“What unites us is greater than what divides us. But most importantly, we must make conscious efforts to incorporate inclusivity into governance.
“This is a young nation in which every community desires equitable representation at the table of their kin.
“Politics is concerned with perception and optics. I am appealing to you; I am appealing to your conscience. The stability, inclusiveness, and cohesion of this nation outweigh the depth and stability of our pockets.
“We are discussing the viability of the nation. The nation is at a crossroads, according to Shettima.
In addition, Sen. Ali Ndume (APC-Borno) stated that 73 individuals have signed for the Akpabio/Barau ticket.
Ndume stated, “We are working very hard to support your efforts to stabilize this nation.”

“We have pledged our support to your administration alongside President Bola Tinubu in order to ensure the stability of Nigeria.
“The last time we met with newly-elected lawmakers across party lines, the president shook our hands and addressed us by our native names.

“The decisions that have been made thus far are those that will strengthen Nigeria.
“Nigeria will transform before our very eyes, and we are committed to being a part of that transformation. We guarantee not only our loyalty, but also the stability of the legislature.”
