Unknown Gunmen kill Judge, during court session

Nnaemeka Ugboma, the Chairman of Ejemekwuru Customary Court in the Oguta Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State, was murdered by unidentified gunmen.

Unknown Gunmen’ in recent times has been an umbrella phrase for the criminal organizations responsible for regular abductions, mutilations, and murders of people and security officers in southeast Nigeria.

Ugboma was murdered by assailants on motorbikes while presiding over a judicial proceeding.

The event abruptly ended the court session as attorneys, court personnel, and litigants left.

The deceased judge was from the Nnebukwu village in Oguta LGA.

“He was slain while seated in court. His murderers arrived on motorcycles. They entered the court, dragged him out, shot him, and then drove away.

“His body was there as courtroom attendees departed,” The entire situation is perplexing since nobody knew why he was slain. He was from the Nnebukwu community in the Oguta Local Government Area,” a source said.

Ugochukwu Allinor, chairman of the Owerri chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), acknowledged the death and stated that the branch will inform the public of its response to the occurrence.
