Buhari approved salary increment for judges. 

has approved and directed the immediate implementation of the higher wage and benefits plan for judicial employees.

This was disclosed by President Buhari during the ceremonial opening and transfer of the Nabo Graham-Douglass Campus of the Nigerian Law School in Port Harcourt to the Council of Legal Education.

This is stated in a statement made by Dr Umar Gwandu, Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) for Media and Public Relations .

Buhari was represented by Malam , SAN, who served as the AGF.

Buhari urged the chairman of the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission and the minister of justice to expeditiously initiate realisation and implementation steps throughout the nation.

“The actions were intended to greatly increase the competency and independence of the court, which he said remained a bedrock of ’s democracy’s strength and stability.

Therefore, he urged the judiciary to continue upholding the principles of their profession and to perform their judicial and administrative responsibilities with accountability and integrity.

 

In addition, he tasked the Council of Legal Education with upholding the trust by maintaining and operating the initiative to promote and maintain high standards in legal education.

He thanked Rivers State Governor and congratulated the state’s citizens and the whole justice sector family on the endeavour.

He stated that the endeavour culminated in the construction and handover of the new campus to the Nigerian Law School Council of Legal Education.

He also praised the decision to name the newly inaugurated campus after Nabo Graham-Douglas, SAN.
