PDP National Chairman, Ayu Begs Ortom to Return to PDP
Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who is the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asked Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, to join the party’s campaign train before the presidential election on February 25.
Ayu made the request at a rally held in the state on Monday for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Ortom, his deputy, Benson Abounu, commissioners, assistants, and all 22 local government chairmen in the state skipped the rally.
Some of the people who came to the campaign, were the former governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, the former president of the Senate, David Mark, and the senators for Benue North-West, Benue North-East, Emmanuel Yisa Orker-Jev, and Abba Moro.
At the rally were the candidate for governor of the party, Titus Uba, and his deputy, John Ngbede, as well as some members of the state working committee.
Ayu asked Ortom, who had not shown support for Atiku, to join the party and help save the country when he spoke at the event.
The head of the PDP said he had made up with Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia State. Ikpeazu is one of the G-5 governors who are upset with Ayu and Atiku.

Ayu said, “Some of our members are upset, but we’re asking Governor Ortom to come back and work with us to save the country.” Governor Ortom can’t go anywhere.
Okezie Ikpeazu, who is the governor of Abia State, and I have already worked out our problem. I met him two days ago, and he has agreed to help our party succeed.
Atiku said at the rally that he would make Fulani herders sign a peace deal with the people who live in the state to bring back peace.
“I am the leader of all Tiv people around the world. If you choose me, I will work to bring peace back to Benue State if you vote for me. Atiku said, “I will go to the state and make sure that the Fulani people sign a peace agreement with the people of the state.”
