After careful consideration of the motion, Justice Adeniyi ordered the immediate release of Godwin Emefiele. Moreover, the court directed the 3rd and 4th respondents, who are the Executive Chairman and the EFCC, to unconditionally release Mr. Emefiele from detention without delay. Alternatively, they were instructed to produce him in court on the date set for the hearing of the substantive motion on notice. There is also the possibility that the court may grant him bail during this process.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court has scheduled the hearing of the substantive motion on notice for Monday, November 6, 2023, marking a critical date in this unfolding legal matter.

The release of the former CBN governor is expected to generate considerable interest and speculation regarding the circumstances leading up to his detention and the upcoming legal proceedings.
