Laura Lynch, known for her role as an upright bassist and co-lead vocalist, contributed significantly to the early success of the Dixie Chicks. The band, formed in the late-Eighties by Lynch, Robin Lynn Macy, and sisters Martie and Emily Erwin (now Maguire and Strayer), released two albums together — “Thank Heavens for Dale Evans” (1990) and “Little Ol’ Cowgirl” (1992).

The Dixie Chicks faced a turning point when Robin Lynn Macy departed the band, leaving them as a trio. Lynch’s undeniable talents, characterized by her gift for design and a love for all things Texas, played a crucial role in propelling the Dixie Chicks from street corner busking to stages across Texas and the mid-West.

As fans and the music community mourn the loss of Laura Lynch, her legacy as a founding member of the Dixie Chicks will continue to resonate through the timeless music and memories she leaves behind. Our thoughts go out to her family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
