Arrest Made in AAUA Student’s Suspected Murder: Ondo Police Unravel Details
In a significant development, the Ondo State Police Command has apprehended a 21-year-old final-year student, Olubodun Sanni, in connection with the suspected murder of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba (AAUA) student, Adekunle Adebisi Ifeoluwa.
The victim, Miss Adekunle, a 300-level student in the Department of Economics, was tragically discovered dead on February 2, 2024, inside the one-room apartment she rented outside the university.

Ondo Police Commissioner, Abayomi Peter Oladipo, provided insights into the investigation during a press conference where he revealed that the deceased’s phone was found missing after the incident.
Utilizing contemporary technology, the authorities successfully traced the phone, leading them to its owner, Olubodun Sanni, who coincidentally resided in the same hostel as the victim.
“The recovered phone led to further questioning of the suspect who gave details of what happened in his confessional statement,” stated Commissioner Abayomi. Following the conclusion of the investigation, Sanni is slated to face legal charges in connection with the alleged murder.

In a separate but related incident, a man named Umar claimed to have slain Adamu after learning of a purported plot by Adamu and a certain Basiru to kidnap and murder him. The unfolding events highlight the complex nature of the cases and the challenges faced by law enforcement in unraveling motives and circumstances.
Investigations into both cases are ongoing as authorities seek to bring justice to the victims and resolution to the communities affected by these tragic events.
