The Senate on Tuesday suspended Senator Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central) for three months after alleging the 2024 budget was padded with N3 trillion.

 

Many of the senators, who contributed to the issue, backed the call for the Red Chamber to take appropriate measures against Ningi for the allegation.

Reacting, former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, in a tweet on his verified handle, revealed what Ningi stands to lose after the Senate slammed him with a three-month suspension.

Sani highlighted the following consequences for the suspended lawmaker:

1. Restricted Plenary Attendance: Ningi will not be allowed to attend Senate plenary sessions during his suspension.

2. Prohibited Committee Participation: He will be barred from attending committee meetings and participating in oversight functions.

3. Blocked Salary and Allowances: His salary, allowances, and all entitlements will be withheld for the duration of the suspension.

4. Office Access Revoked: Ningi will lose access to his office within the National Assembly premises.

5. Restricted Premises Access: He is expected to refrain from being within the vicinity of the National Assembly until the suspension is lifted
