Hilda Baci, the holder of a Guinness World Record, will be showcasing her exceptional culinary talents in Lagos on Friday, July 14th, as part of a fundraising event for a widow.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Joseph Edgar, also known as The Duke of Shomolu and the CEO of Duke of Shomolu Productions, a theatrical play-producing company, has organized this initiative to support widows and empower them to become self-sufficient.

In an interview with NAN on Sunday, Edgar revealed that Baci, renowned for her captivating skills that captivated the world and earned her the Guinness record, will be using her talents to raise one million naira for a widow.

This initiative, which has been running for the past three years, has successfully raised over ten million naira for deserving widows. Instead of traditional gifts, the close friends and associates of The Duke of Shomolu generously contribute cash to commemorate his birthdays.

“The monetary gifts are then directed towards deserving widows, who are nominated by members of the public.

“Last year, the friends and associates of the Duke of Shomolu donated two million naira, which was distributed among four deserving widows.
“This year, a total of three million naira was raised, and the winner, who received one million naira, was nominated by Mr. Yemi Odusanya, a director at Keystone Bank, coincidentally sharing the same birthday as the Duke.”

Edgar personally selected ten other widows from nearly 100 nominees, and each of them received one million naira.

He mentioned that Baci will be preparing a meal for ten individuals at the Ivy Hotel in Emerald, located in Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

Additionally, he revealed that a sum of one million naira will be donated to a widow of Baci’s choosing.
He also shared that the event is being sponsored by Prothrive Astute Heights Ltd., the creators of Grandios Pap, as part of their social responsibility commitment.
