Veteran Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo Debunks Money Rituals, Advocates for Hard Work

Renowned Nigerian actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has issued a heartfelt plea to the nation’s youth, urging them to focus on hard work as the key to financial success, rather than succumbing to the dangerous allure of money rituals, which he unequivocally dubbed a scam.

Kanayo, often recognized for his compelling roles as a ritualist in movies, made it emphatically clear that the portrayal of rituals in films should not be mistaken for reality.

During a recent appearance as a guest at an online Town Hall Meeting, a recurring virtual event hosted by an online news platform, he addressed the topic, “Rituals, Riches, and Realities: The Myths of Money-Making and the Dignity of Labour.”

The veteran actor, affectionately known as “Nnanyi Sacrifice” due to his iconic performances, advised young Nigerians to invest their efforts in diligent labor, emphasizing that genuine wealth is the product of hard work, not dark rituals.

He debunked the notion that engaging in heinous acts like human sacrifices could lead to prosperity, dismissing such beliefs as baseless and dangerous.

Kanayo pointed out that money is best earned through dedication, persistence, and honest toil.

Reflecting on his own journey to success, Kanayo shared a personal anecdote about the construction of his hometown mansion.

He revealed that he accomplished this feat without resorting to any form of sacrifice. Instead, he attributed his achievement to an unexpected windfall that came from a commercial partnership with Globacom, helmed by renowned business magnate Mike Adenuga.

Recalling the experience, Kanayo disclosed, “The money was huge. It involved performances in many cities, but sometimes they count 10 cities and pay us upfront, even before we start visiting those cities.

So, I made a lot of money and built my house. I can say I made a sacrifice to build that house because, at that time, I had the option of buying a brand new 2015 Range Rover.”

He concluded by affirming that his true sacrifice was opting to invest in his property rather than splurging on a luxury vehicle, highlighting the enduring value of hard work and prudent financial choices.

Kanayo’s message serves as a poignant reminder to the youth of Nigeria that genuine prosperity is earned through perseverance, skill, and determination.
