The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has categorically denied reports claiming that it has withdrawn police aides from certain politicians. The force dismissed the viral memo circulating in some sections of the media as fake and urged the public to disregard it.

According to the NPF, the memo, purportedly originating from MOPOL 45 FHQ ABJ, ordered the removal of police aides from specific top politicians and their relatives. However, the police force clarified that the memo deviates from its standard telegraphic message structure and bears the irregular signature of a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), whereas such a signal would typically be signed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) heading the respective formations.

Tinubu expressed concerns that such a decision, based on his failure to secure 25% of the lawful votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), could result in chaos, anarchy, and the distortion of the legislature’s original intent.

In a press release by its national publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the Labour Party cautioned Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to exercise caution in their approach to the ongoing court proceedings. In an interview with Arise TV, Kachikwu commented that President Tinubu’s actions seem to take two steps forward and ten steps backward when analyzed. He attributed this situation largely to the influence of the president’s advisers, whom he criticized for providing misguided advice.

Kachikwu further asserted that President Tinubu should have appointed ministers by now to assist in governance, but instead, he appears to be preoccupied with entertaining friends, family, and well-wishers.
