Tragedy struck the city of Ibadan as it mourns the loss of the esteemed 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan Land, HRM Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, who passed away at the age of 82.

Reports from Oyo State indicate that the revered monarch breathed his last at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, shortly after being admitted into the tertiary health facility on Thursday evening. His demise marks the end of an era and leaves a void in the hearts of many.

Oba Balogun, a distinguished figure in Nigerian politics, served as a Fourth Republic Senator, representing the Oyo Central senatorial district from 1999 to 2003. His contributions to governance and public service have left an indelible mark on the nation.

 

 

Ascending the throne on March 11, 2022, following the passing of Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Oguguniso III, Oba Balogun took on the mantle of leadership with grace and dignity.
