Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), is accused by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of masterminding the intercepting and hoarding of the new Naira notes for his own selfish purposes.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the PDP on Sunday evening and signed by Dr. Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary.
In the statement, the PDP also expressed optimism that the hopelessness and suffering caused by the APC administration will soon end when a new president takes office.
The PDP stated that Nigerians are experiencing excruciating pain as a result of the policy and that they are saddened by the sabotage of corrupt leaders, such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who they accuse of hoarding new naira notes.

“The excruciating pain and distress Nigerians are experiencing as a result of their inability to access the new Naira Notes as a result of the nefarious activities of corrupt APC leaders who are compromising the system to intercept and hoard the new banknotes for vote-buying purposes ahead of the February 25, 2023, Presidential election.”
Our Party is however dismayed that the cash shortage has persisted due to the sabotage of corrupt APC leaders, including the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is alleged to have orchestrated the intercepting and hoarding of the new notes for their own selfish agenda.”
The PDP went on to express its disgust at the hypocrisy exhibited by the APC’s presidential nominee. They noted that despite Tinubu’s alleged role in the cash shortage issue, he has been pointing accusing fingers at others and exploiting the ugly situation to incite unwitting Nigerians with the intention of disrupting the 2023 general elections.
In addition, they warned that the APC is planning to derail the electoral process and impose undemocratic issues on Nigerians, urging President Muhammadu Buhari to protect the country’s citizens.

Tinubu and his apologists in the APC are aware that he has no chance of winning the election, so they are devising various schemes to overheat the political climate, derail the electoral process, and impose an undemocratic situation on our country.
The PDP demands that President Buhari protect Nigerians by going after these felonious APC leaders as well as the system saboteurs who, according to reports, are working with the APC Presidential Campaign to syphon off funds intended for distribution to our citizens.
At an APC presidential campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State, last month, Bola Tinubu claimed that the CBN intended to sabotage his victory in the February presidential election by introducing the new naira notes.
“We will use our PVCs to overthrow their government.” We will trek to the polls if they create a fuel shortage, even if they claim there is none. They may claim there is no fuel due to their mischievous disposition. They’ve been plotting to create a fuel crisis, but it’s useless. Relax, I, Asiwaju, have assured you that the issue of fuel supply will be permanently resolved. “Let them increase the fuel price and continue to hoard fuel; only they know where they have hoarded fuel, money, and naira; we will vote and win even if they change the ink on naira bills. Whatever their intentions, they will fail. We are destined for victory. Those in the PDP will be defeated.”
