Rivers Issues Stern Warning Amid Political Crisis.

 

 

Rivers State Governor, , has issued a stern warning to detractors amidst the ongoing political turmoil in the state, declaring his readiness to surprise anyone who dares to challenge him.

In a statement conveyed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, expressed his determination to defy those who perceive his adherence to the presidential peace pact as a sign of weakness.

The governor highlighted that his decision to promptly implement the peace initiative, initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and accepted by all stakeholders, was out of respect for the president and as a political solution to the crisis that gripped the state since October 30, 2023.

Addressing the misconception of his humility and compliance being interpreted as weakness, Fubara stated unequivocally, “if that action that I have accepted to take would be seen as a weakness, I will surprise them.”

He asserted his commitment to upholding the resolutions reached in Abuja and cautioned against misinterpreting his compliance with the peace agreement.

He conveyed this message while receiving members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) from the 23 local government areas on a solidarity rally at the Government House Gate in Port Harcourt.
