Addressing a delegation from the Azuabie-Okujaku communities during a peaceful solidarity march to the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, April 24, Governor reiterated his commitment to collaborating with individuals of goodwill and progressive ideas to foster the sustainable development of the state.

Represented by the Head of Rivers State Civil Service, George Nwaeke, the governor acknowledged the grassroots support he enjoys, stating, “You are the people who elected him into power, and thus, you have the right to voice your needs.

Acknowledging the contributions of individuals from the communities to the state’s progress, Governor Fubara urged them to spread the message of his administration’s dedication to their welfare. He cautioned against succumbing to monetary temptations, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the interests of the people.

 

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, assured the communities that their concerns, particularly regarding the condition of public schools, had been duly noted. He commended their initiative in undertaking community projects, pledging support from the government.

 

Addressing the delegation’s concerns, Elder Tamunotonkaye Adolphus, speaking on behalf of the Azuabie-Okujaku communities, expressed confidence in Governor Fubara’s leadership and hoped for government intervention in neglected areas such as road infrastructure and public education.

The communities look forward to the rehabilitation of internal roads spanning 10 kilometers and the improvement of two public schools, which were reportedly neglected during the previous administration.

 

Governor Fubara’s assurance of support and commitment to addressing community needs signals a proactive approach to governance and underscores the importance of grassroots engagement in shaping policy decisions.
