The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing support to Financial Markets Operations.

To collaborate closely with the Manager Product Delivery Derivatives, FX/MM, and Fixed Income to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered.

• Business
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local and global regulatory requirements and industry best practises on a day-to-day basis Processes:
• Assume the role of a maker in Depo-X for all secured interbank takings and placements.
• Responsible for Country FMO documentation and collaborating with respective desk officers to ensure daily filing/storage of their documents for easy retrieval.
• Collaborate with external Validation teams to ensure that all Shape failed confirmation dispatches are handled expeditiously.
• Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation to ensure that all regulatory returns are dispatched on time and that any exceptions are escalated.
• Weekly unit update for OTI and Regional Input compilation and production.
  Maintain the team’s register to ensure proper tracking of all incoming and outgoing documents.
• Responsibilities include obtaining weekly CRR statements from the CBN and ensuring they are updated in TLM.
  Management of Risk:
• Notify senior management immediately of any situation that is not in accordance with BAU processes.

Regulatory Compliance and Business Conduct:

Maintain an exemplary standard of conduct and adhere to the Group’s values and code of conduct.

Assume personal responsibility for ensuring that Standard Chartered Bank adheres to the highest ethical standards, including regulatory and business conduct. This includes comprehending and adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct in letter and spirit.

Conduct the FMO Nigeria in accordance with the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Client-centered outcomes; efficient financial markets; financial crime compliance; the appropriate environment.] * Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance issues effectively and collaboratively.

Assist the Operations Assistant in the processing of Fixed Income.
Qualifications

Market Awareness and Understanding: Consciousness and comprehension of the broader business, economic, and market environment in which the firm operates.

Must be familiar with the various regulations affecting financial markets in the location, particularly the Central Bank of Nigeria’s circulars on FXMM.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related experience, preferably in banking operations.
Proficient with computers Excel and Word are both Microsoft products.

• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Management and Control of Risk: Capability to identify and escalate risks. Additionally, an awareness and understanding of the bank’s and financial markets’ primary risks, as well as the role the individual plays in mitigating them.
