The embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed to end the insecurity in the South East within two minutes if released from detention.

Kanu asserted that nobody in the South East can counter his orders regarding the security situation in the region. The infuriated Biafra agitator made these statements while addressing journalists in the courtroom of the Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday.

Kanu said, “some people in the government are profiting from the insecurity in the South East; they know that once Nnamdi Kanu is free, this nonsense will stop within two minutes.

Who’s the fool that can defy my orders in the South East? Nobody can. I, Nnamdi Kanu, am stating that if I am released from this predicament, within two minutes, peace will reign in the South East.”

Earlier, Justice Binta Nyako had rejected Kanu’s bail application. However, the judge ordered an expedited hearing of the case involving Kanu, who faces charges of terrorism and treasonable felony.

Kanu, who appeared in court on Tuesday, has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his arrest in June 2021.

In her ruling, Justice Nyako stated that the court would only grant an accelerated hearing in the matter and instructed the prosecution to call its first witness.
