A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Garus Gololo, has launched scathing remarks against the Senate President, Godwill Akpabio, labeling him as flippant, unprofessional, and childish in his demeanor.
Gololo made these remarks in an interview with the Daily Sun newspaper, expressing deep concern over Akpabio’s conduct and its potential implications for Nigeria.
He asserted that Nigeria could face further challenges with Akpabio at the helm of the National Assembly, emphasizing the importance of responsible leadership in such a pivotal position.
Gololo lamented Akpabio’s tendency to make statements without considering the gravity of his office, stating, “The seat of the Senate President is an institution that people consult. Recently, Akpabio has failed to assert this leadership quality owing to poor personal conduct while presiding over the business of the day.”
Highlighting specific instances of what he deemed as inappropriate behavior, Gololo criticized Akpabio for allegedly embarrassing the country by revealing details of Senate affairs and making blunders in public statements.
He questioned the suitability of Akpabio for such a high-ranking position, suggesting that his actions resembled those of “a market woman” rather than a statesman.
Furthermore, Gololo accused Akpabio of displaying gross incompetence as the country’s third-highest-ranking official, citing numerous instances of what he perceived as reckless and unguarded remarks.
