Protect yourself, do not depend solely on the government, Gov. Radda told the people of Katsina.
Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina State, has advised citizens to defend themselves against bandit attacks on their own instead of depending entirely on government action.
The governor made the call on Friday at the Government House in Katsina during an extensive emergency security meeting.

Radda emphasised the need for quick action while underlining the urgent need to address the state’s growing rates of poverty, food shortages, and insecurity.
Senior government officials were present at the meeting, along with security chiefs, paramilitary agency chiefs, and notable traditional leaders from Daura and Katsina.
“This meeting was called to review the security situation as well as rising poverty and food scarcity in the state.
”We must review the security situation in the state, take action to find a solution, and address these challenges. Apart from insecurity, there are other challenges like the rising cost of food and hunger amongst the population.

”Government is fully prepared to assist any community that organises themselves in their respective areas through training and the provision of logistics.”
The governor said that the state government was contemplating establishing a taskforce that would stem rising food prices and insecurity in the state.

Instead of waiting for the riots that occurred in Kano and Niger states to spread to Katsina state, he gave the people his word that the state government would act quickly and intelligently.
