Cross River governor, , orders suspension of civil service recruitments

 

Cross River’s governor, , has suspended recruitment into the state’s civil service.

 

His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche, stated on Tuesday in Calabar that the Governor also requested a comprehensive re-verification of state civil servants.

In addition, the Governor mandated the revalidation of all recent promotions.

These measures are part of the plan to reposition the civil service, as stated by the Governor.

 

“This is consistent with the government of Cross River’s desire to reposition the state civil service to meet contemporary service delivery goals.

“It will also allow the government to effectively plan for the overall benefit of hardworking civil servants.

 

The Governor was quoted by Ogbeche as saying, “All civil servants must submit to screening and documentation at the Office of the Secretary to the State Government at a date to be announced.”
