The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, shortly after his arrival in Nigeria. The arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into the tragic death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as MohBad.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed this development via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday. He stated, “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.”

Before his arrest, Naira Marley had taken to Twitter to announce his arrival in Lagos and his intention to cooperate with the authorities in the ongoing investigation into the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as MohBad.
In his tweet, Naira Marley expressed his commitment to assisting the authorities with their investigation. He wrote, “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria, to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.
