Nigerian National Company Uncovers 4,800 on Oil Pipelines.

In a recent revelation, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited () has identified more than 4,800 illegal connections on across the country. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, shared this information during his appearance before the Senate Committee on Appropriations on Friday, December 8.

Kyari expressed concern about the extensive network of illegal connections, citing instances where up to 300 insertions occurred within 100 kilometers of pipelines. This widespread issue poses challenges in maintaining the required pressure for oil delivery, ultimately affecting the volume of production.

The NNPCL CEO highlighted that individuals from various parts of the country infiltrate the oil-producing Niger Delta region to install these unauthorized connections.
