Finally, Bobrisky Reveals Why He Was Deported from Dubai
Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known by his stage name Bobrisky, has finally acknowledged that the reason he was expelled from Dubai was due to the way his passport looked out of place.
When he arrived at Immigration, Bobrisky revealed on Toke Makinwa’s show, he had on a lot of makeup, which led the authorities to doubt his identity.
He claimed that due to the country’s Islamic laws, which forbid cross-dressing, he was sent back to Nigeria upon his arrival at the Dubai airport.
He had visited the United Arab Emirates on numerous occasions, but on that particular day, which was a Jum’ah day, he was deported.
“I was sent back to Nigeria the last time I visited Dubai. I’ve been there so frequently. However, that was their prayer; I believe it was on one of their special days. They went to the mosque because it was Friday. On that day, they are extra holy.
When I arrived, the camera would not recognise my face. You know me, na, I was wearing makeup, I want to brag about being first class, and I want to say, “Hey guys, I just got back from Dubai.” Your mother is travelling first class.

“So, I arrived at Immigration, where you will complete all of your tasks. They observed my passport and scrutinised my face. Face camera, they uttered. I turned towards the camera. It repeatedly turned down my face. Are you certain you are the same person, they [immigration officers] questioned? And I replied, “Yes.”
Idris, you are a Muslim? the man asked as he turned to face me. I affirmed. He examined my passport. He was perplexed.
So, we visited one of their executive offices. They then questioned, “Are you trans or..” Well, I used to be a guy, I said. They responded, “Oh, on a regular day, if it weren’t Friday, they would have just let me in.” However, because it was Jumah Day on Friday, they refused to let me in.
