Father Mbaka apologises to Peter Obi can be accessed here on Ejes Gist Newspaper.

Father Ejike Camillus Mbaka has apologized to Peter Obi, the ex-Anambra state governor and current Labour Party Presidential candidate, for calling him “stingy” and “cursed.

Nigerians were outraged by Mbaka’s remarks, and he received a lot of backlash as a result.

The popular priest recently described Obi as a “stingy” man who will never be Nigeria’s president while speaking to his congregants at his adoration ground.

Father Mbaka apologises to Peter Obi

Mbaka retracted his remarks and pleaded for forgiveness in an apology letter.

For the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria, I am grateful to God for His unquantifiable and favourable blessings, miracles, love, and life.

I assure God’s people and Nigerians that I am praying for good governance and leadership in this country, and that God will provide us with leaders who are like Him.

As things stand, Nigeria is experiencing indescribable insecurity, incalculable unemployment, massive corruption, heinous crimes, and unfathomable suffering brought on by bad leadership.

In whatever we are going through in this trying time, I bear with my fellow countrymen and women.

I implore the adorers and the entire people of God to join hands in prayer, asking God to deliver us from the devil’s and his agents’ schemes.

I am a servant of God, and my intention is to pray for His Excellency, Peter Obi, rather than to malign his image.

In his life, may God’s will be done. I pray to God, whom I serve, to provide good and excellent leaders for our beloved people, who will care for them and lead them to the promised land.

I will support whoever God chooses to be our leader. In this vein, I extend my best wishes to His Excellency Peter Obi’s supporters.

If my words have offended them in any way, or if I have been misunderstood by them in any way, I ask for their forgiveness and understanding.

I pray for the well-being of my people as a servant of the Most High God. Good governance, justice, equity, love, and godliness are all values that I strongly believe in.

I pray for peace, love, and anything that will bring blessings and favour to our people and our suffering teaming youths at this time when our people are passing through the valleys of shadows of death (Ps23.4).

Father Mbaka apologises to Peter Obi

My goal isn’t to fight or defame Mr Obi. May God bless him and all of his admirers. In his political endeavours, God’s will be done (Mk.14:36).

The youths I am praying for, sacrificing for, fighting for, speaking for, and working for are the same youths who follow Peter Obi.

What the youths are going through and their circumstances keep me awake at night. It is for this reason that I long for good governance and capable leaders to look after them.

In this country, we are going through indescribable, unbearable, and undeserved hardship.

I’m hoping for divine help.

Bianca Ojukwu Discloses How ‘stingy’ Peter Obi Is. So Unusual

Bianca Ojukwu has revealed how stingy Peter Obi is.

Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has described how she came across the “stingy” nature of Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, described Obi as a stingy man on Wednesday, prompting outrage from his supporters.

In a Facebook post titled, “On Peter Obi’s alleged “Stinginess,” the matriarch recalled when Obi, then the governor of Anambra State, visited Texas and refused to buy a designer suit for an event, instead opting for a $220 suit.

“The perfect suit for him was a dapper Tom Ford suit with a price tag of 3,985 dollars plus tax,” she said. “Do you know how many students this amount of money can train in Nigeria?” he asked, after doing the math.

To cut a long story short, he refused to pay what he called the ‘outrageous price’ for the Tom Ford suit, which led us to Steinmart, where he agreed to pay a more reasonable price of $220, tax included, for a basic men’s suit that he was happy to wear to that evening’s event.”

“What struck me was that as we drove to the airport to see him off for his return flight to Nigeria, he reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope of crisp $100 bills.” The total amount in the envelope was $3,800.

“‘Anyanwu, this is the balance of the money I would have spent on the ‘Ford’ suit,'” he said. If the suit was labeled “Peter Obi,” I’m not sure anyone in America would pay that much for it. I’ve subtracted the cost of the suit we eventually purchased.

Please use this balance to help those who are truly in need through your charitable foundation. I have faith in your ability to do so.'” We all burst out laughing. “Peter Obi in his prime!”

Mrs. Ojukwu then went on to name the recipients of Obi’s gift through her foundation.

The Message reads;

NO APOLOGIES, PLEASE.
On Peter Obi’s supposed ‘Stinginess’….

Sometime in 2009, ‘Mr’(as he preferred to be addressed) Peter Obi, Governor Of Anambra State at the time, visited Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and myself at Dallas, Texas. He came to deliver a get well message from Dr Goodluck Jonathan and was billed to attend a black tie event at the Dallas Marriot.
Curiously, he flew into Dallas airport with one small carry on luggage which he insisted on wheeling around himself, and on getting to our residence requested to freshen up. He opened his carry on, filled with files and paperwork and a few toiletries and an extra shirt, when the Ikemba and I asked if he was expecting another item of luggage, and he said no.
‘Then, what will you be wearing to the event tonight?’, we inquired. It was at that point that it struck him that he couldn’t show up in his casuals at such a ceremony.

I insisted on taking him to the luxury men’s emporium at Nieman Marcus to buy a smart black suit. When we got there, he was busy doing the Dollar to Naira currency conversions. The suit that was a perfect match for him was a dapper Tom Ford suit with a price tag of 3,985 dollars plus tax. He did the calculations and told me ‘Do you know how many students this amount of money can train in Nigeria?’ I reminded him that he was the governor as well as the special guest, and for the caliber of guests expected at that evening’s occasion, including the mayor, senators and captains of conglomerates amongst others, he needed to be dressed in top form.

To cut the story short, he refused to pay what he termed ’that outrageous price’ for the Tom Ford suit and that was how we ended up at Steinmart where he agreed to pay a more acceptable price of 220 dollars, tax inclusive, for a basic men’s suit which he was happy to wear to that evening’s event.

What struck me, was that as we were on the way to the airport to see him off for his return flight back to Nigeria, he reached for his pocket where he brought out an envelope of crisp hundred dollar bills. The amount in the envelope was 3,800 dollars.
He said ‘ Anyanwu, this is the balance of the money I would have paid for the ‘Ford’ suit. If the label on the suit was ‘Peter Obi’, I am wondering if anybody in America will pay that amount for it. I have deducted the amount we paid for that suit we eventually bought. Please use this balance for your Charity foundation to help those in actual need. I trust you will do so’. We all laughed heartily. Vintage Peter Obi !

The eventual beneficiaries of that Largese were Madam Theresa Agbo, a yam seller who became penniless and displaced when her Yam shed was gutted by fire, Callistus Egbe who was bedridden due to illness, and needed help with the school fees of his young children, and the Mgbemena family of six who were thrown out of their one room accommodation (which we subsequently doubled to two rooms) because their breadwinner fell upon hard times and could no longer afford the rent.

In Life, You either live by your creed or you desecrate the mould by which the Almighty created you. Any progressive nation measures an individual by his values, not his vaults.
If this way of life is what is derided as ‘stinginess’ on the part of Peter Obi, then we all need to adopt this mould for a more sustainable and more humane environment.

Unless Peter comes here to kneel, if he becomes President, he will close down this ministry.

Listen, a good old man is better than a young wicked man; Peter Obi is going nowhere as far as God lives.

If Igbos want a representative, it is not someone like Peter Obi.

I am very happy now that I have spoken out. That apology is a poisonous curse against Peter Obi.

Anybody supporting him is wasting his money, he is going nowhere.

He is my friend. When he was chased out of Government House, he knew the role I played to bring him back.

If you like Peter Obi, tell him to come and ask for forgiveness. Let him come and redo what he did.

There is an altar of God he blasphemed; he defiled an altar of God, the Holy Spirit.

Peter Obi has incurred a curse to himself, which means that he is carrying a curse; if you want to be President, change him.

Night meetings we attended to bring him back, ask him, ask Eselu Uga, ask Archbishop Anikwenwa, they know where and how we did it and he was brought back.

A reliable source has confirmed he made the statement during the 2019 election when Peter Obi was the Vice President candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), However, Ejes Gist Newspapercannot independently confirm if the Catholic Priest said those things.

JUST IN: Alex Otti withdraws from Abia APC Gov primary

Alex Otti withdraws from Abia APC Gov primary

Dr. Alex Otti has announced his resignation from the APC governorship primaries in Abia State.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in 2015 and 2019 indicated he will run for office in another party.

He pulled out less than 24 hours before the activity started.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti, who joined the APC a few years ago, said that he was compelled to withdraw from the APC gubernatorial primary due to the imposition of an unpopular aspirant.

In a statement headed “Withdrawal from the APC Governorship Primaries,” the APC chieftain said his decision was formed out of his dedication to ensuring the dawn of a new era of progressive and people-oriented leadership in the State.

“That there is no place for compulsion or imposition of candidates in the party’s Constitution or election act, therefore the wise provision for either Direct Primaries, Indirect Primaries, or Consensus as acceptable forms of electing candidates.”

“That, although the other hopefuls pledged to rally around and support any contender who wins the governorship primaries in a free and fair election, one aspirant, who clearly knows he doesn’t stand a chance in a real election, chose to align with outside forces to be imposed on the party.”

“However, we firmly opposed it because we knew that any product of imposition seeking the governorship ticket in the APC at this time in Abia would have little chance in the general election.”

“It is my sincere view that anyone seeking to lead Abia state and Abians must be democratically elected by the people, rather than imposed by undemocratic or external forces pursuing self-serving agendas that would jeopardise Abians’ long-term welfare and well-being.”

“That my dogged drive and stated dedication to ensure the dawn of a new era of progressive and people-oriented leadership has been empowered rather than dampened, since I know that no great revolution has ever occurred without hitches and setbacks.”

“Because we are on a voyage of Abia redemption, and because the leadership calamity that has befallen Abia since the return of democracy in 1999 has not abated, we do not intend to stop halfway, as that would be a tragedy of epic proportions for our people who have been on a long search for good governance that would provide them with a well-deserved reprieve.”

“That, in view of the foregoing circumstances, I hereby resign from the All Progressives Congress’s predetermined governorship primary scheduled to take place in the coming days.”

“This well-considered decision was reached after extensive consultation with our army of followers, stakeholders, and, most importantly, recognised APC leaders within and outside Abia state.”

“Finally, we want to reassure our throngs of supporters and well-wishers that, having been lavishly blessed and equipped by God, there is no reason to be concerned about this development, as we are more than ever determined to pursue our ambition on another platform, and will do everything in our power to ensure we convincingly and legitimately win the mandate of our people in 2023.”

BREAKING: Buhari sacks CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele

Buhari sacks CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele

President Muhammadu has sacked the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Godwin Emefiele has caused a stir by stating that he is sincerely considering running for president of Nigeria, but he does not intend to step down from his current post prior to running for office. This has led to a number of scandals surrounding Emefiele.

Emefiele went to the Federal High Court in Abuja after receiving numerous calls for his resignation from members of the public not long after he purchased the N100 million form of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He did this to prevent the electoral commission of the country, INEC, from disqualifying him from the election.

As a response to the statement of interest by his appointments, President Buhari issued an order demanding the resignation of every single member of his cabinet who was interested in running for political office in 2023.

Although some of his appointees complied with the order, the majority of them, including the Governor of the CBN, refused to step down from their positions.

The lawsuit that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had brought against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) regarding his bid for the presidency was withdrawn on Tuesday.

Gunmen invade Kukah’s parish, kidnap priests

On Wednesday morning, armed individuals stormed into one of the churches that Bishop Matthew Hassan-Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto presided over as pastor.

According to information obtained by The Nation, the gunmen seized four people from the rectory of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Gidan Maikambo, which is situated in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State. Among those taken were two priests.

Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto States are all included in the jurisdiction of Bishop Kukah’s Sokoto Diocese.

Rev. Christopher Omotosho, who serves as the Director of Social Communications for the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, provided reporters with confirmation of the new information on Wednesday morning.

He stated that the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto is currently under siege, and that no information regarding the whereabouts of the abductees has been received.

Omotosho reported that as of twelve o’clock in the morning on the 25th of May, 2022, armed men broke into the rectory of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Gidan Maikambo, which is located in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“The parish priest, his assistant Reverend Frs. Stephen Ojapa, MSP, and Oliver Okpara, along with two boys who were in the house, were taken captive.

There is no information available on their whereabouts. Please pray that they will be protected and set free.

According to a report that was published in The Nation on May 14, riotous hoodlums set fire to and vandalised many parishes in Sokoto that were presided over by Kukah because of his denunciation of the horrible murder of Deborah Yakubu at the hands of her Muslim coworkers.

After being accused of committing blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed, a student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto who was studying Home Economics at the 200-level was brutally murdered and set on fire.

Ekweremadu withdraws from Enugu Gov race

Ike Ekweremadu, who formerly served as Deputy President of the Senate, has decided not to run in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primary election for governor of Enugu, which will take place today.

His decision to sit out the contest came after Capt. Evarest Nnaji and Denge Joseph Onoh, two other potential candidates, withdrew from the competition.

As a result of the withdrawal, Mr. Peter Mbah, a businessman who served as Chief of Staff to a previous governor, Chimaraoke Nnamani, is now in a position to succeed Chimaraoke Nnamani.

Ekweremadu did not provide a reason for his withdrawal in a statement that was released by the Director-General of the Ikeoha Campaign Organisation, the Honorable Charles Ogbo Asogwa.

Despite this, he assured his followers that they would be informed of his subsequent choice.

The following is an excerpt from the statement that was released: “We wish to inform our supporters and Nigerians that the former Deputy President of the Senate and foremost governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election scheduled for this Wednesday, May 25, 2022.”

What Rochas Okorocha said about Bola Tinubu on Arise TV that triggered his arrest emerges

Rochas Okorocha and Bola Tinubu

The full details of what Rochas Okorocha said about Bola Tinubu on Arise TV that triggered his arrest has emerged.

Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, said that Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a candidate for the presidency, thinks that the party should give him the Presidential ticket as a way to make up for what he did for the party.

According to Okorocha, who is also a presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Tinubu is in distress.

This was expressed by the Senator representing Imo West during an interview on Arise TV.

He was asked by Arise TV Presenter “what is his take on Booa Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential ambitions?”

He said: “I think it’s just natural, and that everybody should know, and I don’t know what’s behind the mind of Tinubu, but I respect him a lot. But I think Tinubu is in distress because he feels that it’s a time to compensate him on the basis of the role he played in the formation of APC, which some of us were part of.”

“So, everybody has a reason why they’re coming out, and these things define power and strength.”

“No conscience”, Wike Slams ex-Ministers Rotimi for seeking to be president

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has lambasted Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past minister of transportation, and Emeka Nwajiuba, the minister of state for education, for aspiring to be President in 2023 when there are challenges in the Ministries.

Wike made these comments on Tuesday, May 24, while he was addressing a political meeting in the state of Oyo. He stated that the ministers in question “had no conscience” for running for president.

“Nigerians are aware of my viewpoints. Restructuring is something I believe in.

In the state police, I have faith. Without a state police force, which is the norm in other nations that implement true federalism, it is impossible to reduce the level of criminality in this country.

Intelligence is crucial.

You have either put an end to it or confined them before it can take place.

Consider this: 42 people were killed in an explosion on a train, yet there has been no definitive report as of yet.

This is the kind of nation in which a Minister of Transport, following an accident in which multiple individuals lost their lives, went out the next day to gather nomination papers for the presidency.

You’re the Minister of Education, the schools have been shuttered for however many months, and the next thing you know, the minister is out collecting nomination forms for the presidency. I have never seen a country with such a lack of conscience as this one.

Abaribe withdraws from Abia PDP guber race, hours to primaries

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who was the leader of the Senate Minority and a leading candidate for governorship of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, has formally withdrew from the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primaries, which are set to take place today (Wednesday).

In a press statement, Abaribe said that he would no longer be participating in the activity. When asked about the grounds for his decision, he blamed the use of a “imaginary delegates list and lack of transparency.”

In a same vein, Senator Nwaka, a strong governorship hopeful from Abia North and a former state chairman of the PDP, has stated that he will not take part in the primaries, which he refers to as a pantomime.

Nwaka has voiced his dissatisfaction with the fact that the three-man delegate congress, which he maintains was never held, was carried out without complying with due process and the laws that are currently in effect.

Senator Abaribe further said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) did not hold a three-man delegate election anywhere in the state, and he claimed that those individuals who wish to impose their candidate on the party fabricated the list that is currently being discussed.

In a statement that was forcefully worded and personally signed by the Senate Minority Leader, he stated that he would soon make public his next political action and that it will be made public very soon.

The full wording of the statement that was made accessible to the Vanguard in Umuahia is included below:

Notice of Withdrawal from the Abia People’s Democratic Party Gubernatorial Primaries

“The past few weeks have been excruciating for us as we have fought tooth and nail to steer our party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), away from a course that would lead to its own destruction.

“The purpose was to provide an unrestricted democratic environment and a level playing field for all candidates contending for all elective seats in the state, so that they may all participate equally in the primary elections. ”

“That was not the case, and of course what we are watching is a chaotic process that is being pushed by a court injunction that was obtained through corrupt means.”

“To make matters worse, the use of only an imaginary 3-man Adhoc delegates to the exclusion of the party’s statutory delegates in the primary elections to elect our candidates even when INEC, the nation’s electoral umpire, has unequivocally stated that no congress held in Abia State for that purpose has without a doubt put the party and her candidates in a quagmire. This situation has no doubt put the party and her candidates in a precarious position.

“The implication for our party is serious, and as a result, it has placed all primary exercises that are currently underway on unstable ground.”

“I am recognised for never wavering in my defence of my principles, which are that all people have the right to participate in a democratic process that is free and fair. Because of this, my campaign embarked on a democratic tour that brought us to every nook and cranny of our lovely state. We visited all of the local governments, and we could see the excitement on the faces of our people, who are eager for a transition to a more progressive administration with a face that is more human.

“We committed human and material resources, preaching the “Rise Up Abia” message for the total emancipation of our state from the drudgery of imposition and godfatherism, which has seen the state at the lowest wrung of infrastructural, human, and material development index among the states of the federation. “Rise Up Abia” is an acronym that stands for “Rise Up Abia.”

“Our people were, and indeed still are, energised by the prospect of a fresh start that will be made possible by a government that is elected by the people.

“There was no doubt that Abians are tired of being the butt of jokes and ridicule from their peers, particularly those from the contiguous states that were hitherto far behind Abia State in the development index in the time past. It was no secret that Abians are tired of being the butt of jokes and ridicule from their peers.

“When we launched the ad, our goal was to shift the focus away from that storyline.

“Unfortunately, the ugly circumstances that were triggered by a voracious drive to retain the corrupt governance status quo of imposition and godfatherism have aborted this goal in PDP,” the author writes. “[T]his quest in PDP has been aborted.

As a consequence of this, Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe will not be participating in this farce.

“I am therefore withdrawing from the exercise, which means that I will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election that takes place in Abia State on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022. Participating in the election would have amounted to endorsement of an illegality that is already being challenged in the courts. “I am therefore withdrawing from the exercise, which means that I will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election that takes place in Abia State on Wednesday, May 25th, 20

“Therefore, I beseech all of our people, our teeming supporters, and Ndigbo to keep the faith, maintain composure, and wait for the next course of action, which will be revealed very soon.

“What is essential is that the struggle to free Abia State would undoubtedly take on a new dimension,” the author writes. It is at this point in time.

“I want to express my gratitude to you for supporting me and this campaign in every way. We will prevail if we work together.
